Chapter Philanthropy and Service

★ Our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, is very unique and close to our hearts. We are one of the few organizations that donate to a cause and not one single organization. Our many partnerships help us make a huge impact on the cause.

☆ The American Cancer Society provides events that all of our sisters volunteer at. Whether they run in the race, help direct crowds, or pass out necklaces to the survivors, symbolizing the amount of years since their last treatment, our chapter supports these men and women who have experienced this life changing sickness.

★ On campus, we hold our annual Think Pink Week, which consists of a series of events to help raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer.  We also compromise with local restaurants to hold profit shares, earning 20% of their profits to our philanthropy. Throughout the week, we pass out about pink ribbons to students on campus. In Fall 2019 we raised $26,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness and Education in just 5 days!

☆ Our newest partner, the NFL, hosts a Pink Out game, called Crucial Catch Games, where our members attend football games to support the cause and raise awareness about our philanthropy. Last fall we got the opportunity to attend the LA Chargers and LA Rams games where we passed out pink ribbons and even escorted breast cancer survivors on the field. We also help spread the word about breast cancer education and awareness through the campus, we partner with our schools soccer, volleyball, and basketball teams, scheduling one “Pink Out” game a season.

★ In the spring we hold our annual Casino Royale. This is the largest fundraiser we have. It is a night full of casino games, dancing, food, and raffles! This past Casino Royale, we raised $11,347.54 in one night!

☆ We hold our philanthropy close to our hearts but also participate and donate to other organization's philanthropies as well. Some of our favorite events to contribute to include St. Jude's Children's Hospital's Up-Till-Dawn and American Red Cross Society's blood drives.

★ Every other week our chapter volunteers to help our surrounding communities. This year, we donated items to Vietnam Veterans, donated toys and crafts to Project Summer Camp, help to keep our beaches clean, as well as many, many more!
